I guess it’s time to introduce… me.
Before Alsay was shapewear, before it was sketches, samples, or photoshoots, it was a name. A family name. A legacy waiting to be remembered.
Alsay is my grandmother’s maiden name.
It is the first surname I traced when I began learning about my family history. And when I found it, something clicked. It felt rooted. Strong. Feminine. Quietly powerful.
That name stayed with me.
Why a Name Matters
Names carry stories.
They hold memory, identity, and belonging.
When I started envisioning a brand that honored women’s bodies with softness and intention, I knew it had to be personal. I did not want a name chosen for trends or marketability. I wanted something that meant something.
Alsay felt like an inheritance.
A reminder that before me, there were women who carried strength in silence and grace without applause.
How Legacy Shapes Design
Every piece of Alsay is designed with respect for the body it will hold.
Not to compress it into someone else’s idea of beauty, but to support it where it already exists.
That philosophy comes from lineage. From watching women show up fully while carrying so much. From understanding that comfort is not a luxury, it is a right.
I design with the belief that what you wear underneath should feel like care. Like reassurance. Like home.
This Is Personal
Alsay is not just a business to me.
It is a reflection of my journey. Of learning my worth. Of choosing softness in a world that often demands hardness.
Every order, every message, every woman who chooses Alsay reminds me why I started. Because we all deserve to feel held, seen, and supported.
From Me to You
This brand is my offering.
A bridge between the women who came before me and the women wearing Alsay today.
Thank you for being part of this story.
Thank you for letting me introduce myself.
With intention,
Leilah
